Tighter Standards on Commerical Flats
On March 18th, the Postal Service published the final ruling on the new Deflection standards for Commerical Flats. Effective 6/7/10, basic standards of the new test by postal clerks will begin, but additional postage penalties for not meeting the standards will NOT begin until 10/3/10.

Changes to Mail Acceptance Times shortened at the Sandston BMEU
Effective Monday, May 17th, 2010, mail will be accepted at the Sandston Facility from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. No longer will mail be accepted up till 6pm. For those who don't know or have forgotten, the Sandston Mail Facility replaced the Brook Road Mail Facility as the Business Mail Entry Unit (BMEU) in October, 2009. This marks a major change in the BMEU operation hours and will impact scheduled mail drops across Richmond.
